Abstract | Interyarn '96, was an important show for the yarn industry worldwide, and the only show of its kind in Asia. Some 89 exhibitors, including over 80 spinners and fibre makers from 13 countries, showed their wares, of whom half came from Italy and a quarter from Germany. The others included six from France, two each from Britain, Switzerland, India and Hong Kong and one each from Ireland, Korea, New Zealand, Pakistan, Thailand and Turkey. Andrew Leung, chairman of the Hong Kong Woollen and Synthetics Knitting Manufacturers' Association, officiated at the opening. The article features the show and introduces the consortium. |
