AbstractImports of yarn and sewing thread by the United States (US) for 1996 reached US$732.4 million through the end of July 1996, 4.5 percent over the $700.6 million imported during the same period in 1995. On a weight basis, imports are running 7.2 percent ahead of 1995, reflecting a slight softening in price for most items. The top ten synthetic filament fibre exporters to the US from January to July in 1996 are featured in the article in which Taiwan is included.
