| Abstract | Good communication between family physicians, hospitals and specialists is a central requirement for effective health care systems, in which each group undertakes the roles they can do best. Here in Hong Kong, where policy supports the desirability of family medicine, there are widespread complaints about poor communication. The article discusses the difficulties encountered and explores how the situation can be improved. |
