| Abstract | Saipan is one of the many islands that dot the Pacific Ocean. It is a member of the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) which while having an independent governing body, is a commonwealth of the United States (US) of America. C.K. Chan, Associate Professor in the Institute of Textiles and Clothing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, analyses in the article the development of the industry, viability and competitiveness of Saipan. Also, the investment of Hong Kong, Taiwan and China are mentioned. |
