| Abstract | China's acceptance of World Trade Organization (WTO) standards is of immense importance to the United States. The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (Amcham) has long supported China's entry into the WTO on "commercially acceptable terms". In preparation for 1998's Washington Doorknock, it has produced a position paper that lists specific elements of a commercially acceptable agreement. The article is the reproduction of the main body of that document, drafted by Ken Grant, chairman of the China Business Committee. |
