| Abstract | When the residential property market went into free fall earlier in 1998 in Hong Kong, some buyers had to forfeit their deposits while other leased their flats to help pay the mortgage. The article talks to major real-estate agencies to find out the underlying causes of the property downturn and when prices are likely to rebound.
