Is Part OfBuilding journal Hong Kong China ; Jan 1998, p.26-28, illus.
AbstractThe private-practising professional town planning sector in Hong Kong started in the mid-eighties when a few firms commenced submitting proposals on behalf of developers to the Government. Today, the sector comprising about 30 firms plays a 'significant minor' role in complementing the Government in planning the 1,091 square kilometre of land in the Territory. Richard L.K. Yu, Partner of Nomometric Design and Planning Consultants, gives in the article comments on the indispensability of town planners in Hong Kong's free-market economy.
