| Abstract | In the midst of all the hearsay about the new structure of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), the ministry has moved a step closer to settling down after the leadership reshuffle announced in March 1998. The article outlines the 13 new units under MII. The responsibilities of the various units within the MII are featured in the article, including General Office, Department of Policy and Law, Department of Planning, Department of Science and Technology, Department for Economic Restructuring and Operation, Telecom Administration, Department of Economic Adjustment and Account Settlement, Department for Management of Electronic Information Products, Bureau of Military Electronics Industry, Department for the Promotion of Information Development (State Office for Information Development), Radio Regulatory Bureau, Department of Foreign Affairs and Personnel Department. |
