| Abstract | Data communications in China grows rapidly in recent years. Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) has set up China Public Packet Switched Data Network (ChinaPac), China Public Computer Internet (ChinaNet) and China Public Frame Relay Network (ChinaFrn). It has actively provided various kinds of value-added service such as ChinaMail, ChinaFax S&F, EDI as well as wireless data communications service. These data communications network platforms and value-added data services support and serve all walks of life including the financial sector. The article features the main financial applications of data communications, such as Green Card Project, Financial Data Communications Network, other financial domains and electronic commerce. |
