AbstractThe Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was found in 1967 and the first summit of the ASEAN was held in Bail in February 1976. After 30 years, according to Bilahari Kausikan, ASEAN is the most successful regional organization in the Third World. Cooperation has replaced conflict as the region's dominant dynamic. ASEAN will continue to play a major role in shaping the region's political, economic and security architecture in the 21st Century.
