| Abstract | 1998 may turn out to be one of the more productive years in the slow-motion reconciliation between the two antagonists of the Chinese Civil War, China and Taiwan. The article reviews the explanation of "one China" , and introduces some ideas of Joseph Nye, a former policy adviser to the Clinton administration and now dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government, about the United States' approach to the Taiwan question. |
