| Abstract | As the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government finds its feet, politics and the economy are not the only issues on which it must take a stand. The cultural life of the community is also a concern, especially in light of the current debate over arts funding and administration. Leading culture patrons, including Vincent Chow, Chairman of the Arts Development Council, Lo King-man, Director of the Academy for Performing Arts, Martin Barrow, Chairman of the Arts Festival Society and Po Chung, Chairman of the board of the Arts Centre, discuss in the article the direction the arts should take. |
