| Abstract | Against a regional background of disintegrating economic, social and political stability, Hong Kong faces its maiden elections under Chinese rule. The potential for a breakdown of stability in the entrepot is negligible. Equally, however, it is unlikely to ride out the current regional storms unscathed. The article examines the general stability, political scene and structure, as well as business issues of Hong Kong. |
