| Abstract | Asia's aviation industry was already undergoing significant changes even before the region's air travel industry went into a tailspin in the second half of 1997. The region's economic crisis will likely speed up at least some of the transformation. In the future, Asia's carriers will offer more fare choices and services. But first, they must survive the current crisis. The article features some measures taken by Asia's airlines to endure the current turbulence. Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific is mentioned. |
