| Abstract | Owing to historical reasons and its special geographical conditions, Inner Mongolia is relatively backward in infrasturcture, especially in telecommunications. Since the implementation of reform and opening up in 1978, especially during the Eighth Five-Year Plan (1990-1995), posts and telecommunications (the latter in particular) in Inner Mongolia have registered rapid development. Its telecom network has made great strides, having undergone remarkable changes in size, capacity, technology and service scope. |
