| Abstract | The coastal province of Zhejiang is one of the better-developed open provinces in China, both economically and culturally. To meet the requirements of its fast-growing economy, telecommunications in the province have been developing at a rapid rate, and a sound foundation has been laid for their continued growth. Significant achievements in the Eighth Five-Year Plan and prospects for further development in the Ninth Five-Year plan are featured in the article. |
