| Abstract | Hong Kong is a "fertile field" in the world information technology (IT) market where nearly all international IT companies have stepped in the 1990's, or would like to place a foot on. The strategic value of IT is well appreciated by the Hong Kong IT community. And the recognition of IT by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government is evident in the recent establishment of the IT functional constituency (IT-FC) for the 1998 HK-SAR LEGCO (Legislative Council) election. |
