| Abstract | A boom of mobile phone industry was found in Hong Kong in 1996. According to the Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA), the number of mobile phone subscribers reached 1.12 million in October 1996, exceeding that of pager users. Its penetration rate in the territory is over 16 percent and the growth rate throughout the year is more than 50 percent. |
