Abstract | Akin to many developed countries, Hong Kong's aged population is growing. By 2001, a 65 year-old male will be expected to live to 81 while his female counterpart will live to 85. This expected further improvement in life expectancy is likely to increase our "Elderly Dependency Ratio" even further.
