| Abstract | Posts and telecommunication (PT) service volume in the January-August period of 1997 reached 111.01 billion Renminbi. Recruitment of new telephone subscribers fulfilled over 90 per cent of the annual goal. About 64 per cent of the provinces fulfilling their annual recruitment targets is located in central and western China. The growth of PT service, especially in central and western China, is introduced in the article. |
