| Abstract | In the 1990s, there has been a perceptible shift in the physiology of shopping malls here in Hong Kong. The retail environment is now being carefully crafted to appeal to a more urbane consumer with heightened purchasing power. Nowadays, design and layout, circulation systems, theme and entertainment concepts and tenant mixes are all central to the strategies of retail developers. Several such shopping malls in Hong Kong are introduced in this article. |
