| Abstract | The grasslands of Inner Mongolia provide the inspiration for many of the paintings by Chinese artist Yang Gang on display at Zee Stone Gallery. Works depicting galloping horsemen beneath lowering skies, camel trains and herdsmen evoke nostalgia for the beautiful wide-open spaces of the prairie. Better still are Yang's charcoal and ink drawings of figures and horses executed in a bold and energetic style of more spontaneous expression which he has developed in recent years. |
