Article TitleEndangered resources.
Is Part OfWindow ; v.5, no.42, 1 Nov 1996, p.64.
AbstractIn this article, the author comments that too many Hong Kong citizens look out upon the surrounding sea and assume that this vast expanse of water will forever absorb their sewage and rubbish; that they can reclaim their harbour and dump their rubbish with impunity, that they can over-exploit their fisheries without depleting the resource. But it is found that deserts are forming beneath the ocean's surface, and a clear message is spread out from the First International Symposium on Marine Conservation that Hong Kong is facing problems on its environment and marine resources. The author specially concerns the trash fish problem in the territory.
