| Abstract | The Hong Kong economy is under new leadership, and like most new leaderships this one is getting a lot of unsolicited advice. On the one hand we have the traditional view that an economy is best steered by the invisible hand, and the job of the government is to keep out of its way. One provides some basic infrastructure, including a legal framework and a "level playing field". The chips then fall where they may. Those activities for which there is a demand prosper. |
