Abstract | With the deepening of China's economic reform, state-owned enterprises are supposed to prop up China's national economy, but more than 70 per cent of them have been operating in the red. Although many prescriptions have been offered to improve these ailing enterprises, economists now agree that the birth of true entrepreneurs is most important. The trend towards a market-oriented economy has spotlighted the importance of entrepreneurs in a country's economic development, a fact many Chinese now recognize. |
