| Abstract | According to this article, a comment on the current stock market, investors are pinning their hopes on a continuing and accelerating recovery in property prices, plus a rapid upturn in consumer spending, combining to push up earnings growth in 1997 to 14 per cent, from 12 per cent in 1996. They also believe the quality of earnings will improve. All of this assumes investors are wholly relaxed about the change of flags in July 1997 - presumably those who are not out of the market already. |
