| Abstract | An increasing number of street demostrations, protest marches and public rallies has prompted the Hong Kong Police Tactical Unit (PTU) to update its crowd control operations. PTU is currently studying methods used at large gatherings such as the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, says Senior Superintendent Blake Hancock, the unit's deputy commander. The move is part of the PTU's continuing programme to identify ways and means of improving the ability of its officers to deal with various types of internal security disturbance. |
