| Abstract | The importance of Southeast Asia as a market for larger diamonds has increased for manufacturers and wholesalers in New York in the United States in 1997 as sales in Japan have been weak for the past few years. Demand in Southeast Asia, in particular Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea for larger sizes in a wide range of qualities and cuts is strong and sales of stones of VS quality with inclusions at the sides have increased, manufacturers interviewed said. |
