| Abstract | Risk, by its very nature, is ex ante or concerned with the future. Due to the lack of objective ex ante information however, researchers use historial information (for example, share prices, accounting ratio etc) to compute risk proxies for use in research studies. In practice though, this information has not been of much use to investors. This Hong Kong Risk Perception Study, (HKRP Study) is one of only a few to investigate risk from an ex ante perspective and the findings are suggested to be useful for practice. |
