| Abstract | To study if an impairment of kallikrein excretion can occur in hypertension and if urinary kallikrein outputs correlate with urinary sodium or potassium excretion, a cross-sectional study of twenty-four hour urinary kallikrein outputs in sixty-seven hypertensive patients having systolic and diastolic blood pressures of 150+/-17 and 92+/-11 mmHg (mean +/-SD) and in one hundred and twenty-five age and sex matched Hong Kong Chinese normotensive controls is carried out. This is an abstract of the study. |
