Abstract | Few bulls are as well known in Asia as Robert J. Rountree, the chief Asia strategist at Japan's Nomura Securities. A graduate of New Zealand's Canterbury University, Rountree worked for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the Bank of England and the London Stock Exchange as an economist before joining brokerage firm Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers in London and then in Tokyo. After stints with Standard Chartered Securities and the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation James Capel in Hong Kong, he joined Nomura five years ago. In this article, Hong Kong-based Rountree talks about the region's economies and markets. |
