| Abstract | Rockwell, Motorola and Ascend have announced the creation of the Hong Kong Open 56K Forum, a coalition dedicted to achieving implementation of an interoperable standard for 56K modem technology in the territory. The forum's chief aim is to gain support for a 56Kbps (kilo-bits per second) modem protocol that will ensure interoperability across brands, providing an end-to-end solution for faster data transmission. |
