| Abstract | Hong Kong Information Technology Association (HKITA) subsequently sent representatives to Beijing to lobby the appropriate officials. The result of the visit was concrete: the information technology (IT) sector has now entered into the first round of competition - becoming one of the 15 sectors entitled to vie for the nine formal functional constituencies. Can the IT sector ultimately obtain a seat in the Legislative Council? There are many factors that can influence the final outcome. |
