AbstractIn 1997, Hong Kong has four new attractions: three marine parks and one marine reserve, long planned and all gazetted during the latter part of 1996. Hong Kong's country parks, its 'green lungs', are well-loved and used. By creating marine parks and a marine reserve, the government has at last taken a major step forward in conserving the superb coastline - with its scenic beauty, recreational potential and diverse, irreplaceable marine ecology. The four areas now designated under the Marine Parks Ordinance are Cape d'Aguilar, Hoi Ha Wan, Yan Chau Tong, and Sha Chau and Lung Kwu Chau marine park.
