Abstract | As the worldwide airline industry pulls from its slump, European aircraft manufacturer Airbus Industrie has been reaping the gains, accounting for almost half of Asia's aircraft orders in 1996. Most of its orders were from new customers. The bulk was from the mainland, with the China Aviation supplies Corporation taking in 30 aircraft. The aircraft for China will be allocated to China Southern Airlines, China Northwest and Zhejiang airlines, all of which will become new operators of the type. |
