Abstract | In Hong Kong, tragic incidents of disastrous proportion are not uncommon. Disasters have brought to the fore the effects of unexpected disasters on individuals, schools, and the community, and the need for the coordination of the emergency medical services and more organized mental health services for people involved in such major and commonity-wide disasters in Hong Kong. This article not only discusses disaster mental health, acute stress reactions and critical incident stress management in general but also cover the development of disaster mental health in Hong Kong. |
