| Abstract | Office automation (OA) has become a much-discussed topic in China, with organisations actively using this technology to achieve greater efficiency in all sorts of office environments. It is the hope of the country to translate this improvement into actual economic benefit. On 24th January 1997, a seminar was held to discuss how to better utilize office automation in this rapidly changing field of technology. Mr Chen Zheng Qing, who sits on the Honorary Board of Advisors of The IT Magazine and is the Director of the Information Centre of the Ministry of Electronics Industry PRC (People's Republic of China), chaired the seminar.
