| Abstract | The Mass Transit Railway's (MTR) Corporation on 4 February 1997 signed agreements with Hongkong Telecom and New World Telephone to enhance the public payphone service on the MTR system. The agreement not only marks the modification of the existing 281 payphones, but also includes the installation of 100 new payphones at MTR stations. It is expected that by the end of 1997, there will be a total of 381 public payphones in the MTR system. Speeches given in the signing ceremony by Mr Rob Noble, Marketing and Planning Director of MTR Corporation, Marisa Leung, Director of Sales Hongkong Telecom, and Mr Franky Lai, Commercial Director, New World Telephone are also provided in this article. |
