| Abstract | Telecommunications in Shandong province have been making very rapid progress in recent years. However, the plesiochronous system (PDH) was a handicap to the further development of advanced multimedia services. The Provincial P&T Administration therefore decided to introduce the synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) system of transmission of the rate of 2.5 Gb/s for the trunk network. This article describes some considerations in building the SDH network. |
