AbstractResearch has shown that mental imagery is a valuable stimulus for the writing of gifted children writing in their mother tongue. However, the research into mental imagery and language teaching has been confined mostly to the word and sentence levels in English. The authors of this article were interested in looking at whether Hong Kong students spontaneously use imagery when writing in Chinese.
