| Abstract | With a view to its long-term expansion in China, the Holiday Inn has opened its own University in Beijing. Its stated objective in the short-term is to develop the skill, knowledge and effectiveness of local nationals. In the long term it is to develop a cadre of highly effective local national hotel operators who, within the next decade or so, can realistically occupy the management positions in China's new hotels. The author has talked to its American director Jewell DeWeese and a class of students. |
