| Abstract | Reconstruction and electrification are presently being carried out for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Railway which will make the renovated line to achieve a high operational speed of 160 kilometres per hour, and the project will be completed by the end of 1994. The railway's means of communications will therefore also be upgraded with new optical cable and radio systems and this article gives a brief account of the new optical cable system to be constructed for the railway line. |
