| Abstract | Since the beginning of 1996, rural telephone service in Jiangsu province has made substantial progress in terms of large-scale development and intensive operation. Of the five indexes on the development of rural telephone service, half of the year's plan have been fulfilled or over-fulfilled. The five indexes involve rural telephone service income, installation of rural telephones, telephone wires laid to villages, public pay phones in villages and the number of villages with access to telephone service. |
