| Abstract | To meet the goals of its 9th Five-Year Plan (1996-2000), the MPT has quickly taken in SDH as leading fiber optic (FO) technology to expand current trunk lines into 2.5Gb/s, and probably at 10Gb/s in the near future. The SDH technology at much higher transmission rates will also become the standard nationwide for the new constructions of 23 FO backbone transmission network. Detailed explanation is provided in this article. |
