| Abstract | While speeding up its development, UNICOM has also expanded its cooperation. GSM (global system for mobile communications) systems in Chongqing, Shijiazhuang and Wuhan with a total capacity of 90,000 lines will go into operation in July 1996. The Shandong branch of UNICOM will also put into operation its GSM system in the second half of 1996. UNICOM will sign shortly in Beijing contracts with the Singapore Telecom and the Zhongshan Group of Jiangsu on the joint construction of a GSM network in Suzhou. UNICOM plans to set up a voice mail box in Wuhan. |
