| Abstract | UNICOM plans to put into operation 400,000 lines of mobile phone system in 1996. UNICOM plans to invest 100 billion RMB yuan in telecom construction during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period (1996-2000) so that at the turn of the century, service volumes of its mobile phone, local telephone and long distance telephone systems will account for a respective 30%, 10% and 10% of the national total. |
