| Abstract | In the Eighth Five-Year Plan period (1991-1995), telecommunications in Shaanxi province witnessed drastic growth and various telecom services were used widely. Statistics as of the end of September 1996 showed that telephone subscribers in the province exceeded on million. Video conference system from Xi'an to various cities was established and 139 digital mobile phone system was put into operation. A complete, unified and advanced telecom network is taking shape in the province. More information is given in this article. |
