| Abstract | As an infrastructure of the city, telecommunications in Shanghai are receiving more attention than over from the public and investers in China and abroad. The reason is that, on the one hand, Shanghai is developing as a major financial and trading center in the Asia Pacific region with an increasingly more important role as a link in world communications, while on the other hand, telecommunication is now finding its way into every household as a daily necessity with the fast development in economy and society, and hence more and more people are concerned with great interest in the development of telecommunications in Shanghai. This article describes the present status and gives a projection on the future development of telecommunications in Shanghai. |
