| Abstract | As of the first quarter of 1996, the target of providing one line to each telephone subscriber was basically achieved in all prefectures and cities of Hunan. At the same time, construction of users lines in downtown area of half of the counties in the province has been completed. In 1995, the provincial PTA urged all major cities to provide one line to each subscriber in three years' time. All major cities and some economically developed counties were required to lay users cable in downtown areas in a step-by-step manner and to distribute users lines at a rate of 120%. With the cooperation of various enterprises, 1995 saw the completion of users lines for 100 institutions. |
