| Abstract | The Hainan PTA decided to build in the Ninth Five-Year Plan period (1996-2000) a basic telecom and information network based on optic-fiber cable and supplemented by digital microwave and SATCOM facilities. The network is to be connected with national and international networks and will acquire a comprehensive telecom capability on a par with that of Guangdong and Shanghai. In the same period, Hainan PTA will focus its attention on the target of laying a foundation for a national economy based on information. |
